About Me
Wendy Halley Social Skills Coach
Hello there! I’m Wendy and I’m so happy you’re here.
I work with pre-teens, teens, and adults—whether or not you have a diagnosis—who
feel unsure, stuck, or overwhelmed in social situations. That might be at school, at
work, or just in everyday life. You’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it all out
on your own.
I’ve spent over 25 years helping people understand our social world. Once you know
you have a choice. Our social thinking and behavior starts with our thoughts, often we
work simultaneously on our thought life
At Social Skills Coaching by Wendy (SSC), every session is shaped around how you
learn best. Some people are visual learners, others learn by listening or doing—and
many people are a little mix of everything. We use hands-on tools, real-world
practice, and lots of kindness to make social learning click. I give you new social tools
and strategies and invite you to empty out and refill your social ‘tool bag.’
Think of this as a journey and I’m your tour Guide. This journey is a process, not a
destination. Expect the curves, the hills and possibly some potholes as you travel on
your way to success and your new comfort zone.
I started SSC in 2008 because I believe that everyone can create a social connection.
My goal is to take those “unwritten rules” of social interaction and gently turn them
into steps that make sense. Together, we’ll build skills that help you connect, speak
up, and feel more at home in your own skin.
I’ve always believed that it’s not credentials alone that make someone a
professional—it’s the person who brings those credentials to life. With that in mind,
my work is grounded first in experience and deep, practical knowledge.
One of my favorite ways to describe what I do comes from a thank-you card I
received from a client’s mother. She captured our work together better than I ever
could:
“Wendy is a natural connector with a warm personality and a deep,
analytical mind. She takes on her clients’ challenges with a unique
combination of clear thinking, creativity, and genuine understanding.”
I also hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Yeshiva University (Stern
College) and I regularly attend webinars and workshops that relate directly to the
needs of my current clients, so I can better support the people I work with.
I am a member of the Asperger/Autism Professional Coaching Association (MPCA)
and will soon be a registered provider with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
(OVR).
Some of my recent learning includes:
- ● Autism College: Adolescents on the Autistic Spectrum
- ● Cork Autism Conference: Empowering Autistic Individuals to Be Successful
- ● AHEADD: Adult Autism Employment Awareness Day
These trainings help me stay current so I can support each person with the care,
insight, and tools they deserve.
More than anything, I want you to feel safe, seen, and supported when you work with
me. I bring a mix of structure, creativity, and gentle encouragement into every
session. There’s no one-size-fits-all here—just an open heart, an open mind, and a
whole lot of belief in you.
Let’s take things one step at a time—together.

Wendy Halley is one of those rare individuals who can make a difference when no one else can, which is why, as the mother of a child with autism I am indescribably grateful for her services. In the case of my son, on the mild end of the autism spectrum, he is seemingly so close to fitting in to the “typical” world--and yet, so very far. What he is missing is something that is so taken for granted that it has no name, something that the rest of us never formally learn and thus can barely teach. Yet, it is the most essential thing in the world—it is the key to connection, friendship, and love. It is not a problem that a generic prescription or an average teacher can fix. You need someone who is extraordinary: someone who has great vision, deep perception, and endless patience. Enter Wendy Halley, social skills coach…
From the first time Wendy met with my son, I knew she was special. She made that personal connection with him that is almost a miracle in itself. Since then, she has never ceased to amaze me. Beneath her gentle, warm personality is steel resolve. She takes on her clients’ challenges with a unique combination of clarity and creativity, of straight talk and empathetic understanding. She has a staggering amount of energy, a seemingly endless bag of tricks, and a passionate belief in the success of her clients which is awe inspiring and beautiful. She is their mentor, their friend, their steadfast supporter. It’s hard to be a winner without a great coach, and those lucky enough to work with Wendy get a chance for a win at this game we call life even when the cards are stacked against them.

Wendy has make such a difference in my daughter’s life as well as my own. Since Wendy has been working with her this past year on improving her social skills, she is developing and strengthening her abilities toward independence. She is learning to stand up for herself while at the same time understanding that give and take is needed in relationships with family and friends. Wendy has helped her gain self-confidence and begin to accept that she is a ‘good person.’ She looks forward to her weekly sessions and has found a good teacher, confidant and friend in Wendy. I am thankful that she has this opportunity to grow.

Our son, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, began working with Wendy Halley on an individual basis on improving his social skills. Since these sessions began, a number of people have commented on the improvement which he has shown in his ability to handle himself in social situations. We have also noticed and are pleased with this improvement. Wendy is exceptionally pleasant, enthusiastic and vibrant person who seems to genuinely like the people with whom she works. She treats them with respect and has endless patience interacting with them and creatively answering their questions so they can best understand it.
