This first time appointment will be scheduled for up to an hour-and-a-half. To this appointment, the individual will bring their filled-out New Client forms, previously emailed to them.
This appointment is a time when the individual becomes familiar with Wendy, and the Social Skills Coaching she provides, and Wendy becomes familiar with the individual’s social abilities and challenges.
These individualized one-on-one sessions continue after the initial consultation.
For these sessions, Wendy creates a curriculum designed to address the social challenges discussed during the client’s initial consultation. In each session, various learning strategies are used, including reading and discussing prepared role-playing scripts and directed social-skills practice.
(INDIRECT service Client time, completed outside of client sessions):
SSC Additional Support Service Time that spent on a client’s behalf, during non-session time, 15 minutes or greater, will be billed to the Client accordingly.
Common examples of what Follow-up Support Work time is utilized for:
- Collaboration with any of the clients consented Individuals
- Participation in a Client’s clinical or school team meeting via phone/email/text/In-Person/virtual
- Requests for SSC to provide a written summary of coaching work or a letter of recommendation, etc.
- Purchase of a teaching ‘tool’, pdf, e-book or social story etc.
- In Between Session Support calls/ texts/emails…
Social HomeworkSocial skills practice homework will be given at the end of every session. This homework provides the client with the opportunity to practice the social skills they’ve learned in everyday situations.
If the individual session is held virtually, the practice homework will be emailed to the client, for them to print it before the session
